What is virtual reality? (VR)
Virtual Reality is a computer-generated environment that lets you encounter a different reality. With a VR headset and motion controls, you are transported you to a new world. You can virtually explore incredible landscapes, star in a movie instead of just watching it, and become the hero of your own video game story.
What is mixed reality? (MR)
Mixed Reality is a type of VR that utilizes green-screen technology. The player has the same experience in the headset as VR, but your group of friends watching the unit’s TV sees a 3rd person view of you digitally rendered into the game world. It is incredible!
I’m not a gamer, is VR for me?
Absolutely! Virtual Reality is designed for gamers and non-gamers alike. Who doesn’t want to sit front row at a Cirque du Soleil show, meditate on a tropical beach or learn a Roman history lesson while standing in the Coliseum. Many experiences focus on delivering an interactive movie-like environment unlike anything you’ve experienced. To get you going, our hosts will walk you through the entire VR setup and introductory process, so you will not feel left alone. Then, they will recommend curated content based on what realities you want to explore.

What is the HTC Vive?

Any physical limitations to VR?
The optimal VR experience requires guests to move their head and neck, and be able to use at least one hand to interact with the virtual environment. We can accommodate most skill, mobility and cognitive levels for a range of guests, and our facility is partially wheelchair accessible (space is accessible, bathrooms unfortunately not).
However, be sure to consult your doctor before using any VR equipment if you have pre-existing serious medical conditions (such as a heart ailment or epilepsy), conditions that can affect your ability to safely perform physical activities, psychiatric conditions (such as anxiety disorders or post-traumatic stress disorder), or if you are pregnant or elderly. Should you feel uneasy or nauseous at any point, please take off the headset and inform a House of VR host immediately.
